I would have posted this sooner but I was again having hardware related issues. But that is all behind me now. Everything is running very smooth.
Lemme start off by saying, that was one hella good night! I had a blast! I know I didn't post anything about this event before, but eveyone is invited to come up next time. He definitely is going to define the trance scene here in York. People around here havn't ever heard real trance. Most the djs that spin around here, spin dnb or breaks, and it's just not flying. Goodfellas, is the name of the venue. It's a very nice establishment. Just opened about a year ago. Very cool vibe, and the cheapest drinks around. $3 red bull & vodka's, $2 domestic bottles, $4 long islands (and they are all liquor). The main bar is located to your left as you walk in, a small dance floor next to that and the dj booth is set a few feet above the floor. There is also a coffee shop/second bar on the other side of the building where it is a little quieter, if you don't want the music so loud.
Cougar took to the decks around 11:30 and kicked things off with Jan Johnston - Flesh 2002 (Noel Sanger's 5am Repo Mix). This was a brand new sound for the Goodfellas crowd. I definitely saw heads turn. Everyone who was there, stayed all night, which doesn't usually happen there. Everyone who was sitting at the bar, was constantly looking up towards the dj booth to see who was up there and what was going on, cuz it sure was different. I spent most the night chatting it up with people. There were a few people who definitely got into the set. Including of course, the dj himself. Watching girls dance to my best friend spinning was really rewarding, since I hardly ever see people dancing there. By the time he dropped Conjure One - Tears from the Moon (DJ Tiesto ISOS Remix), everyone was smiling and having a great time. I even got into it and started dancing during Solid Globe - North Pole, and few others. All night though, I paid most attention to each mix individually, and I gotta say, his mixing was tiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. He knew it too. He was dead on perfect all night. Each transition flowed so naturally, it was incredible. He spun for about 2 hours and 15 minutes, ending the night with AVB - Yet another dub. That song is a deinite banger for ending a set with. So much power to it... Honestly I can't say enough about it, except that, I hope to see some of you guys next time. I know York may seem like a hike for many of you, but I come down to glow all the time and it only takes me 1.5 hours. If you need a place to crash, I got plenty of room and I only live 5 blocks from Goodfellas. So come out and help support a local dj!!! The next gig is saturday 7/26. George (the owner) wanted Cougar back every other saturday, but he had to decline, cuz that would cut into our clubbing time, so it'll probably be every 3 weeks.
