So what time are you going to play? Would like to stop by and meet you or something since we won't be at the same place Friday night. I will be at 1015 seeing The Scumfrog and participating in the OC (Special drink at 1015) Olympics/championships/whatever .
Are you still doing the afterhours party at Tabu (at the same place)?....I do the after hours thing once a month or so, but usually at the EndUp...after hours are often the funnest times. I feel the need to just get absolutely wrecked every once in awhile...while pacing myself (instead of just letting go and getting to the point of no return by 4 or 5am ). I would probably do it more often if it I didn't feel dead for like 3 days after. There's nothing really happening in the city Saturday night other than Mark Farino at the Sno-Drift, but I don't like going there unless I can get at least a friend to go with me...the crowd there can be bleh sometimes. If not, I'm totally down with being all lonely and exploring a place I've never been to - that being The Shadow Lounge. |
I should know tomorrow what time I'm playing. You'll love Shadow Lounge, they even have Hookahs, no not hookers lol!, Hookahs -- resembles a water pipe with several nipples coming out of it, used for smoking fruit flavored tobacco. here is an article on Hookahs:
http://www.brainchildentertainment.com/hookahs.html
also the kitchen at Shadow Lounge is open all night long and it is quite good. Bar is open till 2am and then re-opens at 6am. Oh shit, I just had a thought, this place is 3-4blocks away from Sonic, what if we get that place for TA's and Armin dinner??? it is too fooking perfect!!!... This saturday night, Orgy and afterhours Tabu are going to be combined into one event at Shadow Lounge. So just pretend that the afterhours party started at 2am eventhough you don't have to go anywhere else, hehehe... Cheers....

Cool, let me know. I suppose I'm not the special Armann guest list, right? (I said to put me on it a couple weeks ago but you've been gone or something )....
I haven't used a Hookah in a long time - I probably don't even remember how to use it right. LOL. Does everyone just share them there or something? If I go, it's probably not going to be with anyone I know (unless my usually party-partner returns from LA early) as no one I know around here (out of who hasn't been laid off from their job and left the bay area) digs the music and atmosphere that I do....my point is that while using a hookah would be awesome, I don't know if I'll ever be in the place to actually use them since I won't really know anyone there.....hell, a pic of me is below so you can hopefully recognize me or something :!P!P!P
As for the Armin dinner there....Shadow Lounge is 21+ right? There are some under 21 peeps here who at least want to go to the dinner although they can't go to 1015 (inlcuding the person who will be making the reservations).
Here's a pic of me...a rare one of me in a pic smiling (I am typically oober camera shy) while really drunk.

I am most proud of this pic because this was taken during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in LA in May...where I had to work covering it. I had been up for close to 80 hours, and still had the power to go to the huge Sony party at the Los Angeles Center Studios (Pretty much right where or right by where Club Red is I believe) and get REAL REAL SMASHED, sleep a couple of hours finally and get back up and continue working @ E3

hehehe, I know what you mean, I hate freakin cameras, but love taking pictures of others though! Yes you are on Armann's guest list. Just tell the booth person you're with Daniel on Armann's personal VIP list...Let me know ahead by emailing me if you'll have someone with you.
as fas as Shadow Lounge goes, if we book the whole thing(remember this place has capacity of 300) I'm pretty sure we can workout a deal with venue owners to make it an 18+ for a few hours. My friends dad's restaurant is any age w/full bar for 21+.
Is there still a TGIF Fridays at Fishermans Wharf? it's not too far and I'm sure we can set up something with them, 'cause they have two areas of the restaurant that could be sorta closed off.
Another option if peeps like Japanese viriety food, including my favorite sushi, Natori on Balboa between 4th and 5th avenues has a separate room upstairs that could easily fit 70 people for dinner. It's all you can eat, not sure about the price, I believe it is still under $20.00 per person for dinner. And yes, they also have a full bar...

OMFG, John C and Stephane K were incredible. Some of the best deep progressive music I've ever heard. I've never seen a progressive DJ do a Laptop mixes before, this was totally new to me. the venue is incredible, best venue I've ever been to as far as giving one an underground scene feel. Great sound system and friendly staff, yes even security team was helpful, polite, and friendly.I called a friend of mine(who will be spinning tonight with me at Shadow Lounge) who was at spundae and he said that he was a bit dissapointed, Scumfrog did not play his usuall housey stuff, he was playing more of deep club dance tunes, Dave is he correct. I've always known Scumfrog to play only housier tunes, since I really don't like house music, I didn't even check out spundae when I had a chance. Cheers....
PS. Dave I think I am playing around 10pm, not sure, should know within a few hours, I'll post it up when I know for sure.

The Mezzanine: That's why I love the mezzanine. It's not that big, but it has such an underground feeling.....and yeah, the sound is real good (although a few of us agree it just seems like they cut back on the sound in some fashion since it opened in March or April.)
I actually drank some with the lead security guy at the Mezzanine Thursday night....I was at 80s night at Cat's Club here in SF and he was there and recognized me as the guy who is at the Mezz all the time....hehe. He's cool.
The Scumfrog: I've always described The Scumfrog as a DJ that plays house music but with a trancy edge. I actually hadn't heard a ton of his stuff before....but going by what I had heard...that's just how I describe it. He's just awesome because he totally gets into the music, gets into the crowd, adds his own vocals (and doesn't ruin the track by any means), plays electro-drums (hehe, made up name there), etc....I personally loved it. Note that I was really really smashed.
Let me know what time you are playing. 10pm is EAARRLLY for me to be at a place. Also, what time do you expect to be at the Shadow Lounge until?
