Pioneer CD-1000 vs. CDJ-1000MK2

I'm about to get another CD player to go with my Denon S5000, and am deciding between Pioneer's CDJ-1000, and CDJ-1000MK2. I was on their site trying to find out the difference in the two, and haven't really found anything very substantial. Does anyone know what the major differences are between the two, if there are any? Thanks.

well, the CDJ-1000MK2 is probably gonna be more expensive, wit more features on it. you might want to go with the CDJ-1000 becuase it's a more user-friendly unit, and it's cheaper. But i'd say play around with both and go with the one you're more comfortbale with.

there's a thread in the pio forums bitching about how minor the upgrade is, thouth that might have been deleted by their forum nazis by now. If they still have the $150 rebate on the mk1, i'd take that over some cosmetic changes available on the mk2. and I'd probably taka a closer look at the dns-3000 too

from the Pioneer forums:

New Features:

* Delay-free Scratching when cueing a song or jumping to a hot-cue; the memory build is instant so you can start scratching immediately.
* A Cue Marker is set automatically within the center display to visually represent the cue point relative to the jogdial’s location, much like vinyl DJs use tape or pen to mark their sample start points.
* “Wide” Pitch Control. DJs can use the +/- 100 percent pitch control range to create new sound effects from opposite ends of the sound spectrum and also to BPM match completely different tracks. This is in addition to the +/- 6, 10 and 16 percent pitch ranges.
* The Full Feature Digital Out function ensures that all of the CDJ-1000MK2’s digital features are carried over to any connected digital environment, even scratching and master tempo.
* An Extra Bright Display allows the DJ to see the track info more clearly and makes key features brighter.

Look at the new features above... But it all comes down to your style if your gonna be scratching...Go with the MK2 quality and feel was improved. if you are a tranceaddict and gonna play trance n' stuff go with the 1000 its really good. If i were you i would get the mk2s for like $200 difference you get the MMC and more features and perfection.

why not buy the 800's. they came out after the 1000's without the memory card option, and are like £300 less

thanks for the input.
I'm returning my broken CMX-3000 as credit, and paying the difference between those and what I get. The difference will come out to like $200 for the MK2's, so I'm gonna go with those.

You'll be able to buy only one mk2 with a credit for a cmx3000 and $200.... the CMX costs only $899.00 brand new.... 2 MK2 will cost you over $2000. So unless you plan on buying just one cd player... you better look at other options..

no, I already have a Denon s5000. The CMX cost me $769, and the MK2 price is $969. My CMX broke awhile ago, so I already started saving for two single cd decks. All I need is the one now Pioneer now.
