Best CD decks for £500 ?

I wonder could anyone guide as to what would be the best for that price bracket. All it needs to do is have pitch bend and not have that annoying problem of the pitch jumping from 1.1 to 1.2 and so on as my previous cd decks (soundlabs) had this problem.

thanks also any advice as to the questions i should be asking when phoning about them

If I were you, I'd go for the CDJ100s from pioneer.

single or dual?
if you're looking for a dual, get Pioneer's CMX3000. It does everything you'll need it to.

its for a friend of mine, he wishes to purchase top loading ones preferabbly. The pioneer was his first choice but they dont have pitch bend, which is no good

he was then looking at the TASCAM cd 302 but no pitch bend either. So now he is looking at gemini CD400X

hmm, pitch bend... I don't think alot of CD players in that price range do have pitch bends...

the Axis8 from numark does have it, you'll pay 700€ for it (about 500£). I can recommend that one. As for the gemini player: they don't really have a good reputation on cd players. But, they do claim that the CD400x is frame accurate, so, that sounds quite good.

I'd say, you get the axis 8 if you REALLY insist on having a pitch bend since you won't use it THAT much...

I don't get it

When you move the jog wheel you are using pitch bend, this it with any cd-player

Unless I'm completely not understanding what you're talking about i'd advice to get the pioneer cdj100s, I've got 2 and they rule, they've got everything you need without all the useless stuff

I was under the impression pitch bend was the cd decks way of nudging the record slightly faster or slower ie

on technics when u push the record when its kinda going off etc

so u can use the jog wheel in much the same way as vinyl by simply pushing it ? Surely that cant be right ?

no, the pitch bend is a little manipulation of the exit sound. It changes the tones. When you speed up your record, you'll hear that it's in a slightly higher tone. Pitch bend changes the tone that way you don't have any tone dissortion. But, frankly, you won't EVER use it, and for a rather unused function, you're gonna pay alot of money. I say, get a CDJ100!

After reading that 3 times I assume you're talking about master tempo

the master tempo is NOT the picht bend eej...

You've got them ST90's from stanton, they do have a pitch bend AND a master pitch.
