please...no more sung vocals in trance tunes

Trance has become extremely commercialised, and i'm not very impressed at all with all this 'female vocal trance' thats coming out nowadays.

Granted we now have the technology to layer vocals perfectly onto tunes so that they 'blend' instead of sounding out of place, but, what ever happened to...

...'letting the music speak for itself'?

Trance music by nature is supposed to send the listener into some kind of 'trance' or 'higher state'.

With all the female vocal tracks being forced into the limelight they are turning into 'songs' rather that trance tracks.

Give me,
#Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel,
#System F - Out Of The Blue,
#Gouryella - Gouryella,
#Westbam feat Red Jerry - Wizards OF The Sonic, Or
#Mauro Picotto....

... any day of the week.

It might just be me but didn't all this cheesy dance start with Miss 'Ian Van Dahl'.

Anyway thats my opion.....

KTW

I onced liked sung vocals in trance tunes, when it was a rare and beautiful phenomenon like in Delerium - Silence...

I can't stand it anymore standard sounds and cheap melodies with those cheesy vocals...

I wonder what you all feel about it. Do you like trance more like it is today ?

What you guys are talking about is what i class and Chessy Shitty Chart Wank (a.k.a Euro Dance) and yes i agree.. i think its all the fucking same... from a non-trance fan i expect everything sounds the "same" to them.. but yeah this so called "Trance" has been giving Proper trance a bad name... but we cant really stop it becuase bad boy racers and 13-15 yr old girls love the shit and buy it up like M&M Chocolate Bronwies reduced to 10p instead of 75p (sorry for that comment.. but was a great deal for me,lol!) So the shamless music producers dish it up with a side order of an ugly bitch singing random words that dont mean anything.. "fly on the ings of love.. fly baby fly..hopefully you will fall and then you will die... la la la la " (2nd part was my idea.. just in-case you thought it was the real lycis..:P)

Just my Views, TriXed

This subject has come up before. If you don't like these vocal tracks, don't buy them or don't listen to them. It's as simple as that.

I'm with you. There is absolutely no point trying to force your opinions on others - everyone is entitled to like what they like and not have their musical preferences called into question by deluded people who think they know better. *Insert smilie of choice here*

all i can say is thank god for dubs.

most vocals in trance songs (well really most dance songs in general) are cheesy and stupid. many of the vocalists have very beautiful voices tho (partly due to editing done in the sound studio).

i love tracks which have vocals where you don't know what they are saying. like some indian or tribal woman singing their heart out. or when they are in some language i don't know.
also i like it when the vocals are choped up and filtered and whatever so that you can't actually make out what they are saying like in james holden - nothing (93b returning mix)

One upside to cheesy vocal tracks is that they can sometimes produce great remixes.

Take Vincent de Moor - Fly Away (The Thrillseekers Remix) for example.

OR The Space Brothers - Everywhere I Go (PvD Rework)

My opinion on vocals not too long ago was more or less "bring it on!" But they really have gotten out of hand, particularly with "Reflections." Apparently all the vocal trance I like was well-produced, too. Most of the newer vocal stuff isn't, and takes notes from eurodance.

It's time for instrumental work to come back into the limelight.

Damn I see these kinds of posts everyday!
Vocals can be good...alot of really good vocal trance out there, but yeah generally I steer away from vocals for the most part.
But telling other people how you think of vocals...well that's great that you feel however you do, but realize, that no body on this board gives anyways...so posts like this are pointless(I learned too)
You don't have to let everybody know about your opinions, especially if they are negative. Just listen for your own satisfaction man.

Lightbulb Great topic ...

I experienced many of the electronica's transitions in the last 15 or so years ... and I do see what you guys are getting to. One of the reasons why I no longer like eurodance its because it was so much overplayed on the stupid Z 103.5 radio station here in southern ontario, that I began to like the tunes without vocals more. I just cant stand eurodance anymore, especially the new stuff ... bla bla .... zzzzzz (some classics are good). Its annoying and sounds so similar ... I do see that vocals are becoming more common in dance & electronica music nowadays and I am worried a bit. But the original vocal s that sound different from others do make amazing songs! /// stuff like that
