buzzing sound on techs

i don't know what it is but one of my techs makes this buzzing noise when i hook the grounding wire to the mixer. if you turn up the volume you can hear it a little, and if you use the PFL on that channel you can hear the buzz...but when music is playing you cant hear it..i think it has somthing to do with the groudning wire.. when i don't ground it to the mixer i dont hear the buzz anymore..anyone ever have this problem? and isnt it suggested to ground your tables?.

it's called a "ground hum" and it comes from a 60hz cycle on your power lines. this can be corrected with what is called a power conditioner.

LOL, too funny

Anyways, as john smith said, you have a grounding problem. There is a grounding wire that leads away from your technics turntables. There should be a place on your mixer that you can stick your grounding wire to.

You might be sticking the grounding wire to the wrong place. for example if you stick the grounding wire to a metal surface, the buzzing is usually loud and audible. Look in your mixer manual for the correct place to stick your grounding wire. If you are sticking the wire to the correct place and ensure that its in total contact, then contact the place you bought your mixer from because buzzing shouldnt happen when you connect properly.

i've checked the stylus and they are fine... i dont know if it is th emixer because i have another tech and it works fine without any buzz....the stange thing with this tech is that if you ground it there is a buzz but if you ungroudn it there isnt a buzz.. i thought it was the other way around.. but i guess not in my case. thats why i have no clue whats up.
