I'm looking into getting a new pair of headfones, and am trying to decide between two pairs. Another set of Sony's, or the Pioneer's. I have a question about the Pioneer's though. I was at Guitar Center the other day, and was lookign at the Pioneer's inside their packaging. I could be wrong, but it looked liked the actual cups were small, and there wasn't any room for your whole ear to fit inside the way they do with Sony's. More like you just put them on top of you ear, as opposed to all around it. Is this really the case? If it is, I'm staying away, if not, I'm gonna go with them.

They do sit on top of your ear. But they have better sound quality, better isolation, have softer cups, are much lighter and are just all around more comfortable than the Sony's. I've had both, and while the Sony's aren't bad while you use them, as soon as you switch to the Pioneer's you won't go back.
Plus the Sony's will most likely break around a year of use, so save yourself the money.

the cup doesn't fit all around your ear, but neither does the cup on the sony700's. The only earphone cup that I have ever felt completely isolated and comfortable with are a pair of KOSS phones that cost me 60 bucks about 5 years ago, but are still the best headphones I have ever used (cept they dont have swivel so I cant use em for spinning)
But really, the hdj cups are pretty damn comfy, I wouldn't worry about it.
