I could get a pair of stanton trackmaster II for 30$ but i really want the Shure Whitelabels..or is there better out there,??

you can get a pair of trackmaster 2s for $30?!?!? used? even if they're used if they're in like new condition that's a great deal. i use trackmaster 2s myself. i really like them and there are more then a few top jocks that use them but then i know people who absolutely hate them. needles are like headphones, it's pretty subjective. everyone has their own opinion about needles. just try out a few different kinds and see which ones feel and sound best to you. unless you're a scratch dj, needles aren't going to make you dj any better or worse. cheers.

Are they really good though? I hear they are made for scratching? im really not gonna scratch i just want them cuz i need new ones and those are good for their price/

i really like my trackmasters but like i said that's just my opinion. they are a good solid, reliable needle. they're labeled as a "scratching" needle because they have a spherical stylus. they work just fine for mixing. if you want an elliptical stylus you can purchase the groovemaster or roger sanchez signature series trackmaster replacement needles. they'll both fit on the trackmaster 2's cart and have elliptical styli. i'm going to use the trackmaster rs stylus when it's time to replace my styli. as an added bonus i thin the silver color of the rs stylus will look cool on the black body of the regular trackmaster.

I scratch a lot so i use the shure m44-7Z/H Stylus.
They are perfect for me, cuz i basicaly scratch, but I also mix so they're good...

I use Shure... I have the cheap ones currently because I shelled out alot for my decks, but just about everyone that I know in the physical world uses Shure, both Hip Hop and "Techno" djs.

I heard that the Shure Whitelabels are better than the Ortofon's.. i really dont know cuz i havent used them but the price is a little way too much for me..

thought it wasn't a good idea to switch to elliptical after using a spherical stylus?

I am using Shure SC35C's right now... And I personally really like them.. I find them pretty good for overall mixing, and not to bad for some light scratching... however I DJ trance, and I don't do a whole lot of scratching...

For now.. there good enuf for me...

my personal experience (spelling?):

i bought a pair of trackmaster II-sk carts before i got my decks, and after using them for maybe a week, i decided that i didnt like them so i bought a set of groovemaster II rm tips to go on my trackmasters. they fit just fine and sounded great. alot better than my trackmasters, way more bass, and all around better sound.

however they would jump out of the groove when i was cueing up the record, on the first beat of the record. there was a thread about this a few weeks ago i replied to. i got frustrated so i bought some shure M44gs, and havent looked back. in defense of the stantons, the groovemasters sound really nice imho, and i am a tt newbie and might have a rough hand when it comes to cueing, but i really like my shure carts. i also leveled out my decks before i installed my shure carts, they were off alittle to one side.

if anybody wants a set of nearly new stanton trackmasters w/ an extra set of trackmaster styli, and a set of just as new groovemaster styli, pm me with an offer. they are mint, and have an aluminum/ plexiglass case.

I just bought a pair of Whitelabels. They're amazing. That about sums them up.
