I'm listening to his old Essential mixes, specifically Havana, and I just cant stop thinking about how much different he was then than he is now.. i respect his decision to move onto different kinds of music, but.. the man is a god. His track selection and mixing ability have gone downhill.. i just hope he can pull it around before i see him live, whenever that may be.
OAKIE!!! I MISS YOU!!! |
Of course, I dearly miss the classic way Oakenfold used to do his mixes and the perfect tracks he used to make his masterpieces ... yet I think he's still a great DJ and a great mixer, its just his new sets don't sound as good as those back in good ol' days .... but he'll always be among my top 5 all-time fav DJs. Unless he is going to try another Bunkha or worse ..... never again!
BTW, while I am still at it .... my top 5 Oakie sets ...
