How to cure ultra static charged vinyl?...
...this is a very, very rare thing for me, so it has little to do with my equipment set-up, the room they're in, etc.
All vinyl is definately not created equal, so some attract dust a bit, and others not at all, some are thin, some are thicker and solid as hell, etc. (I'm sure this isn't a new concept for anyone that spins).
That said, I recent bought a new double LP repress of Binary Finary, and the things are friggin' horribly static charged. It's so bad that you can move your hand around in the air nearby and feel the hairs on your arm moving. I wouldn't care so much if it wasn't for the fact that you can actually hear the static discharges crackling all the way through playing the track (which I doubt it the best thing for my equipment...).
Any suggestions as to how to fix this, hopefully in a permanent way?

I think its not the problem of the vinyl, but of what its packaged in... because if you picked up the same LP as me (Positiva Records) each record is encased with the plastic acetate. And from memory of grade 9 chemistry I believe that acetate is either the most or second most readily static charged material out there. So with the record rubbing against this plastic sheet innard it will create excess static charge. Maybe change the record sleeves? My copies aren't very, for lack of a better word, "staticky" but then again I try not to rub them against the sleeves too often/hard.
