Lucid Asylum presents
FOREPLAY
starring:
ROBBIE RIVERA - Miami (www.robbierivera.com)
In March 2000, Robbie’s infectious breakthrough piano track ‘Bang’ turned out to be one of the most in demand tracks at the Winter Music Conference in Miami. ‘Bang’ made Number One in every UK Dance chart, shot onto the Radio One, Kiss FM, and Capital playlists, was a Danny Rampling Powerplay record and picked up huge support from the likes of Dave Pearce, Judge Jules and Pete Tong. Late 2001 saw the release of yet another hit single, “Funk-a-tron", which was then picked up by Erick Morillo's Subliminal label, and received huge support from Pete Tong on Radio One and all the usual suspects. His brand new sound secure him yet another buzz chart track in 2002 with the release of “Sex”, which featured Billy Paul, along with another very successful Miami conference with Robbie doing a live mix for Danny Ramplings show on Radio One to kick off events. His collaboration with fellow Miami based producer Chicco Secci, (Rockik) entitled “Memories” was the cause of much A&R interest and was picked up by Time Records who signed it on to Serious Records in the UK.
2003 for Robbie began with a nomination for Best Breakthrough DJ in the US as well as being voted Best House Music Remixer by Remix magazine in the US. Robbie Rivera’s 2003 conquests thus far also include locking down a monthly residency at the legendary Miami club Crobar and this summer he has played in Ibiza, Barcelona, London, Mykonos, France, Italy, Moscow, Madrid, Corsica, Corfu, Budapest, Berlin, Dublin, and Amsterdam to name a few. For the rest of 2003 Robbie will be performing across North America starting in October promoting his new compilation titled “Wicked”.
co-starring:
WILLIE MORALES - Miami (www.williemorales.com)
During the early to mid nineties, Willie Morales became a fixture in the Miami Beach club scene. Having held residencies for seven consecutive years at clubs such as Amnesia, Rebar, Union Bar, Boomerang, Crème, Club One, Niva and Folia to name but a few, Morales also held simultaneous residencies at The Mix Factory and The Florida Theater in Gainesville. This year saw Morales secure a monthly residency at the famous Miami Club NV. With over 15 years of experience as a successful dj/producer, Morales decided to use his vast knowledge of music to develop “Let Your Body Rock”, which was released on the Juicy Music label and was played by the likes of Judge Jules on Radio One and Tom Stephan on Kiss FM Radio. The track has been successfully charted by other DJ’s around the world. Morales also has two remixes to his name such as Robbie Rivera’s “Insanity” and Josh Wink’s classic “Don’t Laugh”. His latest productions, “Beat This” on Juicy Music and “Sound the Horn” picked up by Filtered Traxx have already created a stir this summer. With many more original tracks and remixes in the making we have just seen the beginning of Willie Morales who plans to stick around for many years to come.
