ok..so I Think Ive figured out my system. A citronic Pro 8 mixer(this is my failing point..Its 4 chanel, I only NEED 2, and it doesnt have kill switches..which I REALLY WANTED...I saw a numark that did..any advice?) and for my decks....*drum roll please* NOT TECHNICS. But cost the same. They are Vestax PDX2000. Cost the same as MK3s, but seem to be so much more responsive..(and plus, they look better too!
So whadda ya think? is it worth it? The mixer really worries me..but I dont know what Numark to get(are Numark mixers any good?) It was the DM1835X or models above that(check out my possible selection at www.axemusic.com)

Hope you won't take offence but that would be the WORST GEAR POSSIBLE for the money. How about a pair of 1200s and the Vestax PMC 170 (or 270) ?
Dude, listen to skywarp...and if you got 2 grand to work with, get the vestax PMC 270 mixer.
Those vestax are worse because:
-Plastic case (for 500 bucks)
-Straight tone arm
-They won't last you 15 years without problem.
Get the technics.

If you have two grand to work with, definitely get Technics and for a mixer try the PIONEER DJM-300S

I have been searching for the best DJ gear I can get for $2000. I am a beginner so I dont want anything real up-scale. I decided to go with the Technics 1200 or 1210's and a Vestax PMC 270. R+The Vestax mxer has the kill switches u wanted and is awesome for trance and techno music. After all the searching I have done I have found the turntables for about $400 US Dollars each and the mixer for $400 US Dollars. thats would still leave ya $800 bucks for Headphones ( get the new one from Sony they are bad ass) a coffin and vinyls. just my opinion though.

aight...well I got pressuered into buying the mixer, and He tried to sell me the MK3, but then I looked @ the Vestax and he said..well it kicks this ones ass...but he had a bunch of them sitting around(ie like 12) and only 1 mk2 and 1 mk3. I am gonna take the mixer back. Its not what I want.
Thank you for making me realise this! The PMC 170A is EXACTLY what ive been looking for...so tomorow the citronic goes back, and the vestax comes home. Brilliant thing is that Im used to Vestax mixers, I use a Vestax PMC 15 MK2 right now.

If you've got the money to spend and the Vestax cost the same as Technics....BY ALL MEANS GO WITH TECHNICS!!! You'll be glad you did.

ok..Done deal. Im gonna get 2 Technic MK3 or 2 Depending on what they have. A Vestax PMC 170A and umm..2 two foot RCAs(from Decks to mixer) and then..speaker wire..dunno how much tho. And just for the hell of it, I could get a RCA to umm..size below 1/4 inch. Plug my diskman in., so I can use CDs also =)
Another brilliant thing(I should have thought of earlier) is that I can get replacement parts for Vestax mixers very cheap(cost + 5%) because of who I work for.

don't forget about the cables going from your mixer to your amp (and any more cables if you're going through things like EQs or efx processors)

dont need to wire something I dont have.. =) the Amp comes @ a later date when I can afford a good one(and not some 50 dollar POS from cash converters)
One thing that worries me about the Vestax, is those kill switches..they are soooo small...will I break them?

Dude, shop around. Axe Music works on Commision, and I've had many people tell me that they will sell you what you dont need just to make a buck. Check out Long & McQuade. They usually give good deals.
