do you guys, use radar detectors in your car?

iv been searching for one, for xmas, and dont want to spend more than 120 bucks... do you guys recomend anything that you have used before? anyone...

I live and die by my escort 8500, it is a bit over your price range though. I've had it for I think 2 maybe 3 years and I have not received a speeding ticket yet. I usualy go about 15-20 over pretty much all the time. It has warned me about 10 good times were I would have received a ticket.

I didn't want to funk around with cheaper ones. They give a lot of false detections and that is annoying cause you get them confused with real ones. but I think my step bro uses a Bel and they are decent.

the new Banzai magazine has reviews for all the cop detection stuff. hopefully, the magazine is not just for the west coast

Laser radar will be on your car for less then one second then 'boom'
your cought .. you detector will tell you that you have been cought rather then prevent it.

if cops notice a sudden change in speed as they clock them, they have the right to pull u over, search ur car for a detector, and have u put under arrest if it's illegal in that state to own one. well, that's what i saw in the latest Mischief Destory dvd

not many cops bother with laser, at least the majority of them that I have seen. I've been nialed by laser a few times but I have never been pulled over afterwards. You'd be surprised to see how many cops just ride around with their radars on all the time. I love them.


plus this is not just for highway I am assuming, I use mine even if I am going to the corner store lol.

and i think radar detectors are only illigal in west virginia and illinois

In Australia it is not legal to have one but some do. I have Stealth 1050 X-band ,,, and well its pretty sh1t to be totally honest lol.

Cobra makes good ones i have heard over and over worth having a look into.
