Gord has always given the best nicknames to people in the newsroom. He gave me my name practically the minute I walked into the newsroom, 19 years ago. I will be forever known as Topo Gigio the little Italian mouse. A few of the "lifers" in the newsroom still call me Topo. I won't divulge other nicknames he's given people...you'll have to get it out of them.

Working with Gord has so many benefits. As a newscaster he is a great role model. He's cool under pressure, can ad-lib like no other, and knows what he is talking about. Not to mention his photographic memory. He also has a way of adding a real personal touch to his relationships .... who else calls me Miss Elizabeth? Off camera, Gord keeps us laughing with his wicked sense of humour and keeps me on my toes ... daily I dodge the various objects he likes to toss my way during the commercial break!
