Alright, sorry if this is a dumb question but here goes. When a song gets released on vinyl, sometimes it contains more than one remix plus the original such as the A side, B1 side, B2 side, etc. My question is, is when a vinyl gets released with only the original mix and one remix, how come the original mix is on one side and the remix is on the other side? Is this done for a specific reason such as making it easier for the DJ to know which mix he wants to play or to just make better use of the vinyl? How come, if the vinyl only contains the original mix and one remix, do they not put them both on one side?

Makes it much easier to cue. Also, if there is only one song per side, they can usually put it at 45 RPM, which gives higher sound quality.

why the fuck would they put it on one side ???
its easier to have them separate than crammed in together
you dont have to skip around

Yeah....as said earlier, better sound quality when there is less tracks on the sides of the record.

I actually heard theres no difference between 45 RPM and 33 RPM ?!

There is a drastic difference listen to them both and you'll be able to hear the differance.

agreed, wish more could be on 45 rpm..

Theory: if a higher sound quality means more data, then im guessing you would need a higher RPM to read the data, but play at the same speed? Therefore, 45RPM would be of higher quality?

just wanted to see if thats actually why.

Kinda... and also 33 rpm the song is more compressed on the vinyl which means poorer quality. There's been posts on this before in the DJ booth section of these forums

everything is nicer about 45s lol
