There was a thread about this a while ago. Atmoshphere can't be automated in the traditional way so that's probably why you're having problems. I suggest searching for this question because like I said there was a thread about it a month ago or so.

That was my thread. In short, Atmostphere is a c*nt to automate. They say all this stuff about what atmosphere can do but half of it is pushing the truth. It even says that you can run it as a standalone. Has anybody found the atmosphere.exe file yet? Didn't think so.
In answer to your question, you can only automate atmosphere using external controllers. The dials in Atmosphere each have their own CC number and unlike other synths, you cannot change these numbers.
If you want to automate the pitch wheel, you will have to record the midi cc data from your controller. On the midi channel that has the notes going to atmosphere, or on another midi channel that is hooked up to the same atmosphere, select the midi in a the midi controller and hit record. Start to turn the mod wheel up and down and it should record the changes. These will look different to the automation you are used to but its how it works.
If you can not record the automation, then go into file --> options? or something. Somewhere under the file drop bar and in there is the midi filtering options. Make sure that controller messages are not being filtered out.

Not sure if this is what Cheggy is saying, but here's how I do it. Draw out a piece of MIDI on the channel that is hooked up to Atmosphere. Write your notes in, and as cheggy said, atmosphere uses CC's (the part under the note editor) so you can control it by selecting the number of the feature you want and then use the line or pencil tool to get smooth rises and declines..as oppose to doing it manually.
Here's the webpage with the list of things you can edit and their corresponding CC number.
Blake, are you saying that you DRAW in the automation. How do you make the line of automation you have drawn get sent on the correct CC number. Can you select that somewhere, because I was not able to find that anywhere.

Ya you can Cheggy.
Check out the page I posted above for the numbers that correspond to the thing you want to automate. Then when you're in the key editor, click on the drop down thing that is to the left of the CC area. By default I think it is set on Velocity (which is 1). On the right side are the ones that are 'hidden' so find the one that you want (they're not all numbered, but you'll figure it out ) then click on the arrows that are pointing to the left. This adds it to the ones you can see when you click on the drop down menu, then click on OK and select it from the list.
I hope this helps..not too sure if it's really clear, but let me know if this is what you were looking for

Cheggy, I forgot to mention that you were supposed to click on 'Setup' when you clicked on the drop down menu...then you'll get to what I was talking about.
Sorry for any confusion.

Yeah, I guessed as much. Its weird that I have been automating it completely differently, using an external controller to send CC messages on specific channels
