Size of Pitch Slider...

I was listening to some records in HMV today (on a technics 1210 obviously)...and noticed that the length of the pitch slider was nearly double the length of the ones on my gemini xl-300's. Also the technics has a range of +-8% whereas mine has +-10%.

My question is: does this mean that its generally harder to mix on turntables like mine rather than technnics (or TT's with a long groove to slide across), because i have to make much smaller adjustments?...or does this not really make a difference?

Cheers

Yup, takes much slighter movements to get the same amount of control, and overall will just make it harder to get as accurate.
