I think it can now, there is a piece of software out there by FXPansion I think it is, that converts VSTi's to RTAS. May only be for Mac though. Google came up with this.

Nope, that's only for the big Protools systems, LE only supports AS (AudioSuite) and RTAS (Realtime AS). TDM aren't just synths, but plugins in general, that run on the DSP cards.
But Mossy is right, with Fxpansions VST to RTAS wrapper, you can get most VST plugins on Protools too (only a couple are not compatible, most work).

Nice, I'm going to be getting an AMIII soundcard to start playing around with ProTools; didn't realize that I could actually get my VSTs in there as well.
