Aren't there any Dutch Tranceaddicts who can clear up this matter?
I'm not even Dutch (ie. from Holland, Netherlands), but I know that the surname Van Dijk is Dutch and the original proper spelling is Van Dijk. It might have been changed to Van Dyk to facilitate pronounciation, but the original surname is probably Van Dijk. In Dutch, Dijk is pronounced approximately the same as how we pronounce Dyk (or Dyke) in English, I think... not quite, but close.
Here where I live, there's a DJ who's surname is Van Tijn, but he sometimes goes by Van Tyn as his DJ name, so maybe Paul Van Dyk did the same type of thing. I mean, maybe he just uses Van Dyk as his DJ name, but still goes by Van Dijk on all official legal documents. Either that or his family changed the name and the Dutch are just spelling it like it would have originally been spelt OR the English speaking media changed it to facilitate English pronounciation.
