I was curious as to how you guys made the transition from one track to another (after beatmatching of course).

For me, I use the X-fader and the "low/bass" part of my mixer. When the breakdown comes, I usually place the X-fader in the 1/4ths position. Both the songs are in their default mixer/equilizer settings at the time. Then I slowly kill the bass of the finishing song while I move the X-fader to the midpoint. Finally, I just finish moving the fader to the next song, slowly.

I want to see how you guys do your transitions. Mainly for suggestive reasons (seeing if there's a better way out there).

i use the EQ as the volume.. put the bass n mid down abuot half then when im rdy i push the up faders to full n use the EQ to bring the volume up,. and turn it down on the outgoin track

i don't do it the same way with every mix.

i usually control the channel with the up faders. sometimes i keep the bass down and bring it in that way, sometimes all i leave up is the mids and then bring in the other parts. sometimes i kick it straight in with the bass up and take the first tracks bass off, and sometimes i cut about with just the mids and highs on the x-fader before bringin it in properly.. various combinations of everything really.

basically, don't just stick to one way of doing things, variety is the key

I use the channel faders, gains and bass EQ. Hardly ever touch any of the other EQs unless I'm doing tricks.
I start with the gain quite low a lot of the time and just slam in the channel and then do the rest of the work with the gain and the bass EQ.

You don't need to mess with the mids and highs if you place your mixes well. Sometimes if you want to keep a melody going or a vocal they can be useful.

i use the eqs, mainly the bass of course, gains, and up faders. i usually leave the x-fader open unless i am going to cut in some beats, because then it is very useful and sounds good. also the mid and highs arent too bad at times, but they dont need to be used to often. as tu_face said, "variety is the key"

I pretty much use eqs exclusively to mix. Obviously at the very beginning and very end i use channel faders but I try to use the eqs as much as possible. More so the high and low, not so much the mids.
