the good spots for 18-20 year olds? if you're talking about clubs, you might as well forget about it... it's really sad, but the majority of the good events here are 21+, so, unless if you have a decent fake id, you're not going to go out much (to fun things). things change all the time, but it will be hard. i remember i had to borrow a friend's fake to go see pvd a while back. good times.
as far as evanston is concerned, you can get into the bars when they have their 18+ nights. i'm sure you've probably heard of the keg, which is the sleaziest place in the world -- kellogg and other grad students (and 30year old locals) go to pick up the freshmen girls... sad. other than that, there are decent bars, but the cops ran a few stings this year to crack down on fakes... the future is bleak, my friend. 1800 and Praire Moon are really good bars -- 1800 definately is my favorite because of the "beer garden" which is awesome during summer nights. otherwise, everything decent is in the wrigleyville/ downtown area... and thursday nights are the going out nights eventhough we all have class on friday.
