Foreign Monitors to Report on U.S. Presidential Vote
quote:
The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe will a send a team to observe the vote in a move applauded by Democrats who had sought monitors because they felt ballots were unfairly left uncounted last time, particularly in Florida.
Apparently the organisation has previously monitored Western democratic countries such as France and Spain so it's not exactly an unprecedented move but still I guess it will raise some controversies.
I think it's great, cause the U.S. always sends people to monitor other presidential elections around the world.. but no one monitors the U.S., what kind of example did the U.S. show? .. sooo I think it's great.

I think it's a great move. It gives the Democrats less of an opportunity to bitch when they lose Florida again.

are you joking? b/c i think the OSCE has sent a represenative to our federal elections every cycle. i know a rep was monitoring in 2000. granted it wasn't a full contingent of specialists like this year, but we relatively have our shit together compared to Kurplakistan. the U.S is one of its founding members.

LoL! well, Florida is the focus of attention this year once again. Moore will come with a bandwagon of lawyers watching over with camera's and such, so that the voting proceeds correctly and fairle.. though polls released yesterday show Kerry with a 7 point lead on the region.
Q5echo, I meant to say it in a way that the US is not watch on the same way as the US watches over other elections.

Palast and the BBC will be closely watching too. I doubt Florida will allow Shenanigans to occur again.
