My contributions to the subject could be something like this:
* Kirsty Hawkshaw - Fine Day 2002 (James Holden Remix) >> nice smooth'n'deep update of Opus III's (of whose original vocalist Kirsty is btw) 1991 classic.
* Age Of Love - The Age Of Love 2004 (Wrecked Angle Remix) >> only decent enough out of the 2004 mixes to get my full attention, great breaks version which goes almost to the level of the classic Jam & Spoon's Watch Out For Stella Remix from 1992.
* Tilt - Children (Tilt's Courtyard Mix) >> Tilt crew did a great remake of Robert Miles' classic and the result is IMO even better than the original.
* Moonman - Galaxia (Solar Stone Remix) >> wonderfully flowing epic trance remix of Corsten's mid 90s old(er) skool trancer.
My notes on the first post:
* Ronski Speed Remix of 1998/2003 has energy but not much else.. pretty boring remix all'n'all. Older mixes are better.
* G&M Project of Greece 2000 is plain awful generic 200* trancer and much worse than the older mixes.
* Mike did an ok job with his own update of Universal Nation but as a remix Oliver Lieb Remix is soooo much better.
* All the older mixes of Gamemaster are much better than the 2003 mixes, if i need to pick a remix, i'd choose Lost Tribe's '99 (which is Darey's best REMIX of it being loyal to original) mix which is still far from the original's magic.
* Not a fan of Nu NRG's remix of For An Angel either.. not my thing.
* Roth & Ellrich did a crappy job updating Orange Theme. They couldn't even get close to the divine greatness of Man With No Name, Solar Stone or Moonman remixes.
Perhaps i'll add something tomorrow if i come up with any...
