I've been spinning vinyl for a little over a year now. But, I just bought a pair of Pioneer CDJ-1000's, and I'd have to say that spinning CD's take *EVERY BIT* as much skill as spinning vinyl. They give me more options to be creative, like looping portions of the song and jumping back and forth between cue points. I'd highly suggest any vinyl die-hard to at least go and give them a try, you might just change your mind.
Now I agree with the argument that spinning CD-R's don't give the artist their royalties, but if they'd print more than a couple thousand copies of their song, and maybe print it more than one time, we might be able to find a copy to buy in the first place! The way vinyl retail works is all f'ed up!
I totally respect any DJ that uses CD's. All that matters to me is what is coming out of the speaker, not the media being used.
