"This is a big pumpkin. Well actually, it's not that big. I mean, I really think we have to be very careful when employing terms like "big" to describe pumpkins. Don't get me wrong: there is an certain element of bigness to it - no-one can deny that. Relative to any perceived smallness, I would say - with cautious optimism - that it does encapsulate a cetain degree of what has, in the past, been described as "big". What this example shows, I think, is that when assessing the size of garden vegetables, there is no simple answer. We have to be prepared to make nuanced judgements about "bigness" before rushing in and attaching labels capriciously. But let me just say this: President Bush wants you to think that this is a big pumpkin. My stance on the issue, however, has been clear and it has been consistent: this is not a big pumpkin."
