Evil1 Christ!

Got my Mk5Gs today (previously owned TTX1s) and been playin with em for the last 2 hrs or so.

well...

i cant mix for shit on them and i mean i cant even match up 2 beats properly! on my ttx1s i was ace. like i could match to records up then go have sex (2-3 minutes) and theyd still be matched perfectly. on the techs i cant keep em matched for more than maybe 5 seconds b4 i notice em beginnin to drift. if its goin too fast i nudge the pitch up a tiny little bit but then its goin too slow. grr i miss my ttxs....

any1 ever had a problem adjustin to a new deck or am i just allergic to techs?

it was a joke.... people who suffer allergic reactions to some foods often need an "epi-pen" which is a personal, portable shot of adrenaline to stop them from suffering the reaction or even dying.

congrats on the new shiny decks. I got a pair of M5Gs too. you'll get used to em. my friend spins at home on a cruddy stanton str8-50 (belt) and a really old Pioneer rotary pitch wobbly belt-driven turntable. He comes over to mix with me and adapts to my decks like no sweat. give it time. both the m5g and the ttx use digital pitch per say, but it's true digital on the ttx, so they aren't as precise as technics can be.

It's that way for me too

I spin on the Stanton 150's and they have incredible torgue so they respond instantly.

when i go to technics, they don't respond as well, so if u touch the platter to fix beats, u have to do it w/ more force...which gives off an annoying twang in the music which is no good, so u either have to use the pitch control or gradually fix the beat error. The stantons are instant fix.

But that just means u have to nail the beatmatching on technics...ur not a good dj if u can't

But u get used to ur own tables. It takes some gettin used to on any diff decks.

People hate my stantons when they come over to mix cus they use technics....i have to get used to technics when i play on them cus i use stanton

I thought the display on the TTX-1's was digital, but the pitch itself was analog.

you will get used to it. they are completely different breed of deck to the ttx1's, they are just as precise (if not more so) but you have to use them very differently. you have to be gentle with technics, treat them like a lady, which can be annoying if you like dirty bitches.

i will tell you now though, you may as well have saved yourself some money and got plain mk5's (or in fact a pair of vestax ). apart from the spangly cabinet theres nothing worth getting them for, the +/-16% pitch is useless.

it usually works better when you use the pitch fader to slow down records instead of touching the platter b/c every deck is different. And once you learn how to do that, mixing on any turntable and cd player is easier.
