New Gemini Turntables

Just found this out over at Skratchworx:

quote:
TT-03
PICTURE
Professional Direct Drive Turntable

Once again, Gemini listens to the demands of countless performance DJs with the release of the TT-03 super high torque direct drive turntable. Surpassing the industry standard for starting torque, the TT-03 provides a heavy duty 2.2kg/cm CPU controlled motor system, which is sure to satisfy both beatmixing DJs as well as scratch enthusiasts. The +/- 10% variable pitch slide control allows for precision adjustments, and the solid aluminum platter features easy glide grooves for quick and easy manipulation. The TT-03 also features a height-adjustable (up to 6mm) straight tone arm system, for superior tracking and skip resistance under the most strenuous conditions. In addition to its solid performance, the TT-03 also benefits from revised cosmetics, including a stylish curved black body, as well as chrome hardware. All of the soft-touch buttons also feature LED indicators, including the start/stop, speed, and quartz lock controls. To top it off, the TT-03 comes standard with a removable, easy-to-replace bright white LED target light, and detachable RCA and ground cables. With its attractive design, along with heavy duty motor and tone arm, the TT-03 undoubtedly provides a great “mix” of form and functionality.

Release Date: April 2005
MSRP: $339.95

Ultimate High-Torque Direct Drive Turntable

Pushing the envelope on high performance, Gemini is proud to unveil the TT-04 Ultimate High-Torque Direct Drive Turntable. The TT-04 is sure to leave the competition in the dust, with its unprecedented 5.0kg/cm CPU controlled motor system, as well as a rubber dampened magnetic platter, for the quickest starts and strongest stable operating torque of any turntable in existence. The motor can even be adjusted for start and brake by means of convenient, retractable rotary controls. In addition to its high performance motor, it is also fitted with a virtually unskippable straight tone arm system with height adjustment (up to 6mm), which is sure to hold the groove, even during the most vigorous scratching and turntable tricks. To minimize feedback from vibration, the metal-reinforced base of the TT-04 is rubber coated, providing an extra level of dampening. Additionally, the TT-04 provides a set of features heavy on usability and light on fluff, such as a +/- 10% pitch control with switchable +/- 20% mode, reverse and quartz lock buttons – all with LED indicators, a removable, easy-to-replace bright white LED target light, and detachable RCA and ground cables. All of these features are brought together by a fashionable, sturdy black plastic body, with a stylish metal plate, defining the pitch control section. The TT-04 is sure to satisfy any enthusiast, even DJ purists, with its carefully designed set of features and solid construction and the highest torque of any table on the market.

THe TT-04 is not very pleasing to they eye.

The tt-03 looks much better, without that metal plate.

looks very nice, i like that platter a lot... in my books, 5kg of torque is a bit over-kill. i would prefer the features of the tt04 with the torque of the tt03.. i have also yet to see the motor specs, but if it can beat the stanton's specs it will do well on the market.

lets all give gemini a clap!

So far all gemini reviews I have read on pdt 6000 and xi500 have been way better than stanton reviews, so I should think these are better decks than any stanton one

interesting

id like to have a test spin on a pair

i agree on the torque overkill, in the next few months we'll be seeing decks with 10.0kg/cm+ with the way manufacturers have been beefing their motors up

not much of a fan for gemini's looks but then again, id like to see how it handles

is the tonearm fixed or can it be swapped? i prefer S-shaped over str8s

are you sure about that, can't say I've seen any bad reviews on the Stanton ST/STR8-150. So far the st-150 from Stanton is the best I've ever used.

Cheers..

I just said I think their better than stantons. And their cheaper than stantons.

However I have come to the conclusion that unless you go for really cheap ass decks like xl500 or st8-60 or whatever is under $200, you should save and go for techs or vestax, I'm defintaly not gonna buy a gemini or stanton or numark for $300 - $500 when I could get a tech or vestax for the same amount.

Oh ok, I agree on going for like Techs or something if you have money to blow on something like these Geminis, although there are some decks out there that cost abit and are worth the money, but I like to stick to what I know will work for me.
