Ok I wasn't clear on exactly what you wanted to do.
I have the same mixer, and one gripe I have is that I can't put the monitor in both cans. I too live in an apartment, and can't turn my speakers up loud, so usually mix straight un the headphones. I match beats with both channels in both cans, and when I start mixing in, I switch over to split cue to monitor the mix.
What have you got against split cue? |
with my recording settings, i always have the trim set to 11 on both channels. when i mix in the headphones, the cue channel is never loud enough unless i mess with the trim. the result is one more thing that i have to remember before mixing tracks is to reset the trim to +11. i would use headphone monitoring more if i could listen to the monitor in both ears(yeah, that is a problem). But the only other thing i don't like about the mixer is that the cue level leds don't match up with the main channels.
plus in the winter, i always get static electricity shocks!
