Just quickly, does Belgium have good beer that is drinkable?
My German relatives say that Belgium Beer tastes just like German beer, but after you have drunk it and pissed it out that is.
Any truth in that?

dude, belgium is famous for three things:
-chocolate
-beer
-me
Germans can't brew beer at all. Here in Belgium most beers(except the modern Kriek) are traditional beers. They still contain yistcells where other beers don't. They get the bubbles from added gas. It is true that Belgian beers have a stronger taste than other european beers. That's because of the 2nd yistproces. Your german friends are probably right. German beers are water, Belgian beers are much more concentrated... Be sure to try the Geuze!

You're a funny lot, you Germans, saying that German beer is better than Belgian beer...
No seriously, German beer is piss compared to Belgian beer, trust me on that one, I've been to Germany more than enough to realise that!
And nowadays there are several Belgian bars opening in the big USA cities, that only serve Belgian beer at ridiculously high prices, because it's just so much better than any other beer on the market there! And I don't see them opening German shops, now do I?
