new guy wants to dj, spend my little money

So, I am completely new to Dj'ing, and I need someone to help me buy equipment, as I dunno what to get. I decided I deffo want vinyl decks.

I have about 3000 NOK/500 USD/370 EUR to spend. Is that enough? If it is used?

I need 2 turntables, a mixer and headphones, i got speakers. Bare in mind I have never done this before, so it doesnt have to be uber high tech

thanks in advance

well, you need TT's, a mixer, headphones, needles, slipmats and records. $500 is not enough in my book to cover it all. I'd look into that Numark CD mixer thingy if you really want to get started.

you'd still be hard pressed to get a fully functionalsetupwith that kindof money. Starting out with a cd set up is so much cheaper, and IMO, an easier way to learn the basics. If turntables are a must though, I'd look on ebay for some used ones.

well with only $500 to spend, you can buy one turntable thats worth owning, and thats about it. Save up some more for good gear, you'll be happier in the end trust me.

They make 2...called the CDMix1 and the CDMix2 I think. It's a dual cd player with built in mixer. It's not two Two Techs and a Rane, but it'll get you started.

If you want a dual cd player u could get a cdn 30 for about 300usd. Or you can get axis2 for 200usd each. Both models are basic cd players, good for beginers IMO. So within 500-600usd you could get you're self a decent setup to start with: mixer+cd player+headphones.

you need a lot more than 500
i've easily spent 10,000 by now and it just keeps rising
you buy pieces of gear here and there

i would definitly recommend the numark cdmix if you want to get started now

then you can save up and get good gear

one thing to keep in mind, when it comes to gear, you get what you pay for
and i recommend buying it once and not having to worry about upgrading
