I always call and ask for the managers schedule and then ask for him personally. Ive never been turned down for a job (had about 6 now) and always hired on the spot.
I mean this objectively : You have seemed rather immature and irresponsible over the forums, perhaps an image change is in order. I cant imagine not getting a job. Its so easy. You stand straight, have a sharp hair cut, be clean shaveen, proper hygiene, clip those nails, and dont say "uh". You should know who you are and why youre there before you go.
Everyone i see not getting jobs are gen X kids who dont think they have to play by the gettin hired rules. UNfortunately you do have to play by them to get hired. Thats the game, those are the rules.
Even when applying to a grocery store you should go in slacks, button up, and a tie. Show that you actually respect the persons position (the man hiring you) and the job your are applying for.
Like I said, Id really have to fuck up big to not get hired.

ive never done this before. so i should be the one calling in, asking for the manager, not waiting for them to call me? |
if you wait, they'll never call...
i know this first hand. i dont bother calling, so every job i've applied for, no responce. its ok though. im still in HS and im not in desperate need of cash. i make my money doing random stuff, and my friend and i have our own snow removal business, while another friend and i have a web design busines, both moderately successful.

your good at this, though, half the apps i did were online, so there really wasnt a manager to call. the retail in mall always told me, we're looking for people with experience in retail. imma use that advice though.
what kinds of places have u worked at?
