2005.01.08. "RELIEF" - a fundraiser for earthquake relief efforts in South Asia
Relief/Unity Aid for Asia Jan 8th
Location: 99 Sudbury
"It's like a taxi meter. The total just keeps going up."
-Jamie MCGoldrick - OCHA
World aid agencies move as quickly as humanly possible to get people on the ground to open supply chains to 11 countries who are counting the dead. Unfamiliar challenges & unlikely alliances arise. We are in a position to contribute to a struggling & desperate cause. This event is the start of a reply wave from the Toronto Electronic Music Community.
Please come out and support your community, and your planet. This is a genreless evening to support our brothers and sisters in their desperate time of need. It warms my heart to see all facets of the Toronto Underground Dance scene come together like this.
Minimum $20 donation at the door.
please spare what you can.

That and what percentage of the $20 is going to the said charity...?
Great idea btw...

Red Cross.
Although there was some discussion of whether some would be going to Oxfam as well.
From what I understand, there will be representatives from the respective agencies in attendance. (I hope they like dark spaces and pounding music)
What is fun about this event is that it is genre-less, and the sets are quick, short and fun. A little bit of something for everyone.

Sounds cool...
When does it all start?
I don't see a start time anywhere...
I'll probably drop by for a bit

I stand corrected - the money will be handled by Unicef alone. A representative will be there.
