US or UK version of Maxim? If it is in US version - definitely deserves "WOW". And of course, who else is better for the role than the posterboy of Trance - Armin or PVD (definitely more photogenic than Tiesto).

This definitely beats the article in the back of the X-Mass issue describing how to become the next "50 Pesos" rap artist. They even recommend Event monitors... ugghhh...

But I've yet to see a single trance/prog/house music record reviewed in Maxim. The only thing I saw that was remotely close to that was review of the "Underworld" album and "Massive Attack". The rest is crappy alt-rock/death mettal/ghey indie music/gangsta rap.

No, he can't DJ. I wish they had Jazzy Jeff instead. Then we might have actually learned something useful or interesting.

He's hardly the best person to teach, the bastard mixed out of the best bit of 'nebuchan' at sensation 2002

As for scratching, i'd rather see one of the true legends like the D&B Djs like Hype & Old skool djs like Sy or the turntablists than Armin. As for Mixing, guys like Tony De Vit would've been better, teaching how to mix a track without having to adjust it at all, making yourself 'that' perfect each time, there's far harder styles to mix than trance. Guess it's all part of armins 'get me to number 1' trip, watch out for him in playgirl and top shelf mags for t he ladies next as well as gardeners worlds showing our parents how to grow good veg

that would be quite difficult since he has been dead since 1998

Isn't Tony De Vit dead? If so, he's hardly an option.

Armin is a pretty good mixer, regardless of opinion of his style. I've never heard him perform any turntablism and don't think he should be involved in scratch clinics, but who knows.

They should have someone like himself, Digweed, Sasha, or Sander K do a segment on mixing and a Swamp, Cubert, Craze, etc... for scratching and turntablism.

IMO.

I know but it was an example of the kind of person who should give a mixing tutorial
