The efx1000 costs triple what the kp2 costs...you shouldnt be comparing them.
That said I think the kp2 is great. I mean, it has so many effects that you can utilize in both sets, and productions, and most importantly, alot of the effects sound fresh. While everything on the efx500 does not...and the efx1000 will only have 2, and one of them is a vocoder, which is an already whored out effect...so...
That said I honestly dont know which I'll go with. They are both so great.
I know 2 people that own both of those units, and they both have contrary beleifs on which is better. Although one of them is a scratch dj (prefers efx500 because its simple, and easy to control while scratching...and I guess using the jog wheel is similar to scratching) While the other is a breaks, progressive etc. mix dj (prefers the kp2)

Oh, sorry, i was talking about the EFX-500 all the time.
The EFX-1000 isnt really an option to me (the expense! :eek but from what ive seen the EFX-500 and the 1000 doesnt
differ that much when it comes to the effects so, ohwell.
Is there a sample of the vocoder effect btw?
i havent heard it. |
Yea the EFX1000 has I think 3 more effects and some more options, but the main improvement was in the sound quality, thats what the big thing is with the 1000, but between the KP2 and the EFX500, thats a close one, I'd surgest you go and try them both out, I'd personally probably go for the EFX, but I haven't had really any proper use on either of them, just mainly going off of peoples opinions and videos.

Yeah, the sound quality is wonderful on the efx1000, and I'm not arguing that its clearly superior...because it obviously is, but I think it should be pointed out that it does lack a few of the less useful features that the efx500 has, just for peice of mind.
What the efx500 has over the 1000...
The headphone jack was removed for the efx1000, while the efx500 has one. This is actually useful if your mixer has poor/no send/recieve, or if you hook it up between cdj/TT, and mixer (some people do like doing this)
It also lacks the fuzz effect that the efx500 has (but of course it has vocoder, humanizer, pitch echo and phase shifter)
It lacks the pan beat effect.
And lastly it lacks the isolator (eq knobs) I honestly wish they had left these on...
On the flipside what the 1000 does have over the 500...
96khz sampling rate, and 24 bit resolution.
Digital in/out
Pioneer link and a place to plug in a foot switch.
Pitch echo.
Phaser.
Phase Shifter.
Humanizer.
Vocoder.
Character dials.
Rhythm effects.
Looping option on the jog memory.
And it has additional 1/8 and 2/4 beat buttons.

Ok thanks everyone for your answer ĦĦĦ
Maybe still it´s difficult to decide which one to buy ĦĦ
For me, the most important features are the ability to add the
efx to a choosed freq range (hi.low.mid) not to the whole and the quality of sound.
