wow just heard it today and all i think its an excellent take on the original ( which i love, btw, but doesn't lend itself to mixing )

Oh yes! I like both mixes from the older brother of Jörg "York" Stenzel and also 1/2 of DJ Taucher production team. They are pretty much Taucher style, yet moody but with a strong kick, both mixes differing slightly from each other. I'm not really sure which one you mean because on the vinyl they are labeled as Torsten Stenzel's Vocal Dub Mix / Torsten Stenzel's Remix but both are great. I remember hunting down the vinyl was quite a task back when Porcelain came out.
Other worthy remixes of singles out of "Play" (not all trance nor even 4/4 beat tho):
Run On (Plastic Angel's Original Remix)
- Elef did 2 mixes but this is my fav out of them
Bodyrock (Rae & Christian Remix)
Bodyrock (Olav Basoski's Da Hot Funk Da Freak Funk Remix)
- Rae & Christian remix is a chilled breaks mix
- Basoski is a groovy houser
- Hybrid mix is decent tho but it sort of lacks "the thing" for me
Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad? (Subsonic Legacy Remix)
Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad? (Red Jerry's Strings & Break Mix)
- Subsonic Legacy mix is loyal to original but tweaks and gives a little edge and also uses a more old skool style break
- Red Jerry is a moody and beautiful interpretation and he did also another mix but i prefer this one
- i have never really "felt" Ferry's nor ATB's mixes, nothing special in them IMO
Natural Blues (Katcha Remix)
- very well produced trancey remix which is one of my fav Moby remixes as well
- there's also a pretty nice Olmec Heads remix for those who like it even more trancey
Porcelain (Futureshock Instrumental)
Porcelain (Rob Dougan's Clubbed To Death Variation)
- Futureshock did nice work in their more proggy house way
- Rob D is also quite loyal to original but makes the atmosphere a little more haunting and adds his own emotional twists and power to the elements of the track with his nice breaks mix

The following Moby tunes are worth listening to imo:
Porcelain (Original)
Porcelain (Thorsten Stenzel Remix)
Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad (Original)
Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad (ATB Remix)
Sunday (West London Mix)
In My Heart (Ferry Corsten Remix )
I absolutly LOVE Rob Dougans version. I'll check this one out too but Rob D's is the only one that came close to matching the original, imo.

Got this on CD single but can't for the life of me remember what it sounds like. I remember the Futureshock Mix being my favourite version of it though.

He has remixed 'Moby - Run On' back in '99 but i have never seen that remix anywhere or even been able to get a sample to listen. On Holmes' site it says Mute Records but it isn't on any of the releases i've seen so i really wonder what is the real deal with it.
