Any serious tennis players in here?

I decided that after 4 years of being absent from the tennis courts, I will be getting back into the game. I am just out of the loop on the best racquets and all that.

Any of the serious tennis players in here have any advice on new raquets to buy? I heard the new O3 technology from Prince is great?

I've played for maybe 12 years and i've attended a couple torunaments too. I'm not very familiar with Prince racquets, since i stay loyal to my favourite brand; Volkl. I use the old Tour 6 racquet and it seems to work very well for me. It's basically a tournament racquet that still forgives you when you don't with sweet spot. I've also played with Wilson and some other racquets, but i'm most statisfied with my Volkl.

ooh i love tennis!

it's one of the few sports (or ONLY i should say, lol) that I actually have a natural talent for and enjoy (I’m good at racquetball too), but I don’t have that athlete in me, so I’ve never played to my full potential. I was on the team in high school, but it’s been ages since I’ve played.

I went to the Nasdaq 100 Open recently in Key Biscayne and I’m in this tennis mode now and want to take lessons. I miss playing and I could use the exercise.

As far as rackets...I think mine is a pro kennex, and it’s ok, but it’s older. Head makes great rackets too obviously. the more money you spend, the better the racket, no matter what brand.

I wish i lived near you sherry, we could play!!!

I've been playing for five years now and I'm pretty happy with Head racquets. The Babolat Pure Drive Team racquets are awesome. They also came out with the Aeropro series. I don't know a lot about the 03 technology tho. U can always test drive a racquet at tenniswarehouse.com ...awesome site that has everything!

4 years? lol. Man...I had a 400 dollar slammer back when I was doing tournaments in HS and into college. Then I went and travelled and moved and stuff and then got back into it a year or so later. I have a Wilson Hammer now and dude...basically anything is good these days. Its like when people ask what snowboards to get. Anything new. lol. as long as it feels good.

I know there are some people who may disagree but the differences are getting so slight. I picked this guy up for 150 and its been fine for last 2 years, I cant imagine how good everything else is now.

But yeah, Id say pretty much anything new although Ive historicaly stuck with Wilson and Prince.

also: dont worry about sweet spots. I always get my racket restrung anyway. Throw some dampeners on at the bottom corners and youre golden. You just have to know how good you are and if you want accuracy (broader sweet spot) or power (refined but mmmmMMM deadly!)

I still use my Prince racket that I got my sophomore year of high school. They even replaced it for free when it got damaged in a head on collision with the court

they might not replace your racquet but instead recommend you for anger management counseling.

why would you want to hit somebody with a tennis racquet?

I love tennis, it's probably the best outdoor sport, other than european football & volleyball. I'm out of shape, haven't played it for a year and a half

My friends cousin used to cut all the strings out of his tennis racket and then step on it until it was a bar and then burn swastikas into peoples lawns and beat people with said alumimnum bar.

Hes in jail btw.
