hello all, first post on tranceaddict.

ill be moving to tallahasee in late august and am really curious to know what kind of parties/events go on in the area. Any info is most appreciated.

To be honest the entire FL scene is completly dead.

dude, ive never heard of anything in tallie. as far as i know, an EDM event happening in tallie would be like having the winter olympics in the sahara, it just doesnt work like that. if you are going there for school, well that sucks even more for you. the only sign if intellegent life in all of tallahasee is the one that reads: "Gainesville 122 miles" haha, i made a funny.

but seriously, be prepared for many roadtrips to Jax, ATL, Orlando, and Miami for any type of partying. All tallie has is a bunch of crappy bars that play nothing but dave matthews and john mayer, and the crappy ghetto hip hop clubs. have fun

most of that is true. tally sucks big fat donkey balls for edm. i was there for 3.5 years and i can easily rememeber EVERY show i ever went to there.
fall2002 - dj baby anne and ak1200 at some shit club "late night library"....oh man i wanna puke thinking about that night.
fall2004 - some "rave" out in the woods. they had a shitty setup but some halfway decent djs and two BIG ASS fires out by a lake. it was pretty dope.

but yeah, thats it. 2 fucking things. i went to miami a lot, went to atl a couple of times, jax, orlando, gville, pensacola, etc.

Wish I had asked around about Tallahassee trance BEFORE I moved here!

Coming from Chicago and Boston I was tempted by the warm weather, and the nice salary and benefits I was offered....only to find that despite the amazing talent, the quality of life (though cheap) is somewhat lacking.

But I don't mind taking the road trips now that I'm getting a fat paycheck!

The Late Night Library appears closed. There is a promoter (Venus) that puts on shows every month (one drum&bass, one house), but I've not been so I can't comment.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd go back to London despite not having the job security.

Well the southeast in general is not that bad, between Miami, Orlando, and Atlanta you get to see most everyone if you are willing to drive a little. Plus there are great TA's living in all those cities (and others) If you ever come up to ATL for a show we can all hang out
