Re: Alcohol should be banned from clubs

Yesterday I went to see Mauro Picotto at the Forum in Aberdeen. Overall great performance by the Lizard man except for that he didn't play Hong Kong eventhough he pointed at me that he would play it.
Anyway I don't know if its a UK syndrome or if it occurs in other countries as well but the crowd drinks way too much alcohol. So many drunk people which were at the club just to show off. And there were several fights as well. Of which all participants were really badly drunk. This made me feel sad. In my opinion the clubbing scene would be much more joyful if the bouncers at the entrance was checking everyones alcohol halt to ensure that they don't let in people with any alcohol in the blood at all. If you want to drink go somewhere else. if you want to dance to good music you are welcome. if you can't have fun without alcohol then get a life or go somewhere else or drink afterwards.
And neither should there be any bars at the clubs. Instead there should be water handed out for free. What tastes better when you are really badly thirsty?
In this way the clubowners would save money on security and keep up a good mood in the club. Only happy people which enjoy the dj they are watching and are in there for the music. Yesterday it was clearly that some people didn't even have a clue who Picotto was since they shouted "Mario" LOL!
I know all this is impossible due to the fact that alcohol is the main income for a clubowner. But wouldn't it be good? 8) |
Sorry you had to experience that over here mate, but its just the way my country's culture is heading. I don't like it either.
No alcohol is out of the question, like SYSTEM-J said, not everyone goes for the music. Plus i'm sure most people, like me, enjoy having a few drinks in a club, just to lower the inhibitions a bit.
Saying that, Scotlands club culture is a bit of a joke. Unless you goto the less popular/more underground nights in the cities, you're bound to encounter the lowest of the low. I'm sure you met a few skin-headed, sweaty, topless, pill-poppin drunk junkies during your night out in Abderdeen

lol...
for sure...
Boomer you gotta know this. I mean look around at some of the people there. You're from Cali? It can't be any different there. Clubs in boston are all just drunk college kids. And NYC is just whatever lol!

most people need the alcohol to get over their hang-ups.
