Not so Great Spending Proposals for the New EU Long Term Budget
okay so the EU finance ministers are meeting tonight to discuss the new long term budget (2007-2013). Some of the main contributors to the EU budget, germany, netherlands, UK, france, austria and sweden wants a smaller budget with a 1% ceiling of the GDP, while many others, amongst them mr Barosso, want a larger one.
But since these countries obviously have more influence over how much the EU should spend, they will probably get right. However whats pissing me off big time is that instead of cutting on the CAP (common agriculture policices) they decided to cut on things the like regional aid, lissabon agenda, and R&D which is totally retarded imo.
And i really hope that the UKs rebate will be taken away, its no way it can be justified!
