God, this really is stupid. Unless the law also made piracy legal. But still, looks like swedes will have to go over the border to buy CDs. Oh well, sometimes I'm glad I live in the pirate heaven of southeast Europe

The previous government in Denmark introduced a tax such as this some years ago, but then realised the absurdity of taxing people for illegal activity, and made non-profit copying of music/movies/software legal. Unfortunately industry pressure resulted in copying again becoming illegal. Now, I'm not sure, but I think that the tax was *not* removed when that happened, so Denmark is as stupid as Sweden in this respect.
