Copa Libertadores 2005
The SouthAmerican Champions League started its quarterfinals this week.
And the game that just finished will make a Chivas fan like ierxium and any other Boca Jr. hating fan like myself proud. Chivas destroyed them 4-0!!
1st legs
Chivas 4 - Boca Jr. 0
Bansfield 1 - River Plate 1
Atl. Paranaense 3 - Santos 2
Sao Paulo 4 - Tigres 0
River should be able to win at home the next game and it looks like Boca and Tigres are fucked

It was a great night. Two great goals by Chivas. The first by Juan Pablo Alfaro and the second by "Bofo" Bautista. The curious thing here is I predicted this score when I was in Mexico last week. My friends didn't believe me. They probably thought I wasn't serious since I had already taken 8 beers. Proved them wrong!
Anyway, great match from a great team.
EDIT: Awesome performance by Jesus Corona. He was called to play since Talavera is injured and Sanchez is with the national team. I still think he's a good goalie even though America scored 6 against Tecos in the final. America most likely bought the game. But that's another story.

haha thats awesome dude
funny thing is Chivas almost coudve won at least 7-0.And man those last 2 goals were so awesome.Heres hoping nothing strange happens in la Bombonera
about the Mexican final, I didnt see it but how in the hell a championship game can finish 6-3 is really wierd to me lol
and that sao Paolo goalie is a bad ass in free kicks, scoring 2 of them.
next games will be on June 15 and 16

Well it seems Lavolpe wants to use some of Chivas' players for Copa Confederaciones. They are vital to both the national team and the club. I don't know what will happen. What I like is the attitude of the players. They're willing to play with either team. They're not like Blanco!
Hopefully the players will play la copa libertadores. Lavolpe has more players that he can choose and that can play as good. But Sanchez is hard to replace. That's a fact.

I have a scary feeling Chivas might be looking at the next game as " we're already up 4-0 its all good, let them play for our country"
Their first game is vs japan, Mexico can beat em with non chivas players easily.
yeah I dont like people like Blanco who turn their back on their country like that.Asprilla did it to us a couple of times.Ronaldo is doing it to but he s already proven himself in the past, Brazil is already in the World Cup, and theres no need for him in the confed cup.Blanco on the otherhand does not apply to either of those.

Boca Juniors and Tigres is in deep shit after loosing 4-0 and if the players can't play because of the Confed. Cup it's going to be even harder.

So the problem was solved. Three players for the national team and three for the club. Sanchez, Bravo and Medina to the national team and Morales, Salcido and Corona to the club. I think that's right. I'm not sure about Medina, Salcido and Bravo though. I should play closer attention next time.
Chivas shouldn't have problems with Boca next game. What they can do is just score a goal as visitors. Boca can't score six. They won't even score four. But then again, this is soccer. Nothing is certain.

true
but this is the Bombonera....scary place, anything happens there. The fact that Caldas was able to win the title playing there was awesome but rare.
Hope the best for Chivas
by the way Grafite of Sao Paolo is gone for 6 months, so their pretty much screwed for next round, at least their scoring is anyways
