Yeah, I wasn't exactly sure what to call it. I know what you mean about the kick. I've tried EQing it but it didn't fix it completely. I guess I just need practice tweaking with bands and stuff. Thanks for the reply.

i like your attitude... been a while since i've seen a "noob" realize that he has room for improvement instead of hyping himself to be all that...
Anyways, first thing I noticed... too much compression in the track... in the master, try to not overcompress and overlimit the track because it causes distortion and the track loses its bounce.. ITS LIKE READING A SENTENCE LIKE THIS AND IT GETS TIRING AFTER A WHILE. But, with proper punctuation, a sentence can be much easier to read; such is the case as this sentence. hehe..
Second thing, the bass and the kick don't work very well... it gets messy when you have 2 different components in the same frequency range competing for the same room.. try giving each component its own spot in the mix.. for ex, you could give the kick from 250hz-500hz and the bass from 20hz to 250hz and it would seperate things a lot more...
It's quite a nice track... has a lot of drive to it... just way too much compression kinda kills it a bit.. you've done a great job with the perc, melody, synths although it may not be the greatest, you are getting there...
great job!
