One thing I really enjoyed about Batman Begins is that it didn't have too much of a comic book look to it but still managed to retain that dark/gloomy feel of the original Batman movie. |
There was a point even in the 60's comic series that Batman was a very dark and mysterious character, and the comic book was very gritty. The Joker was also portrayed as a very violent and malicious character. Batman had many different faces throughout his lifetime, some very dark and villainous, and others, very lighthearted and comical, like the one that Adam West played on the TV show.
This movie COMPLETELY blew every other Batman movie out of the water. Many batman fans were skeptical as to whether or not this would top the first one directed by Tim Burton, AND IT DID! I haven't seen an action movie like this in a long time. Christopher Nolan took the small margin of mystery and ominous darkness that Tim Burton failed to illustrate in the first one, and ran with it and completely personified it in the new Batman, played by Christian Bale. The entire cast was great. I was particularly pleased with Michael Caine playing Alfred.
Apparently this movie is also supposed to be a new start to the franchise, completely negating the previous 4 films. A sequel is already being talked about.

Right on man I seen the movie yesterday and I can trully say that this is 1 of the best action movie's I've seen in a while (other than the Bourne series). The storyline was smooth, ecstatic & dynamic. I'm glad Christian Bale played the new Batman, he's the perfect actor for it. I strongly agree on the comment of this Batman beating out all other one's. I hope that the next Batman will be just as gloomy & ridiculously dark
I don't know what you folks are talking about with the new Batmobile. I don't even think it's called a Batmobile anymore. It's a flying tank lol Whatever it is, it is sick!
