Every time i record a mix onto my laptop i think its quite good mix but the sound quality is poor despite it being 192 kbps +! I always get a slight "hissing" sound in the background, why?
I have now bought a very expensive cable that goes from my mixer to my laptop and this has elimnated most of the background noise but there is still a slight "hiss"!
It is really annoying me because i have mssed opportunities to play out on radio simply due to this problem!
Thank You

I have that problem too, though one you play music, it stops.
Maybe you're coming in through mic input when you're supposed to be coming in through line in, or stereo mix. Check hat

It could be to do with:
1) Your pc sound card?
2) Mixer, what kind?
3) Turntable?

on your volume control on your PC, mute whatever you don't need to record the mix

Thanks everyone. i'll try everything everyone said and see how i get on! I think i might invest in an external sound card a few people have suggested that to me!
