What you need is a basic .wav editor. All you need to do is open the mp3 file in the wav editor (99% of wav editors now have support for mp3's). splice/mark the track where you need a track mark, alternatively copy and paste each track length from one project to another. There are tons of free wav editors available, check download.com for some basic ones. BTW, your soundcard would have also come with a bundled wav editor.
