Yeah well fair enough but i mean the thing gets HOT... like almost to the point where it is too hot for my hand to touch
i mean this is pretty much the most expensive cdj on the market and i worked hard to earn the $$$$... so i just want to make sure it works fine before the warranty runs out

Are you sure that your players get enough air ? (enough away of mixer, etc, not directly in sun etc).

oh yeah i am referring to right now... it is night time over here... and my cdj is on a table with ventilation on every face except the bottom, so when you say they get a little hot, is it noticably "warm/hot"?
or just kinda warm?

Well my players (MK2's) only get warm not hot. Sometimes the CD's are
pretty hot, but there are differences on CD's.

yeah i think something is wrong with it now... its starting to stall while playing... sounds kind of like skipping but its more like temporarily freezing and then playing again... with brand new burned cds..frustrating!

its as if the "computer memory" is maxed out... on this particular track by trentemoller... there are all these weird sounds and layers, and at the very same point on two different brands of blank cds it had that issue.... and this is using a high quality wave file, the cd's both work fine on my car stereo and my $100 boom box... yet my $10,000 dj system can't handle it??
i really do think this has something to do with it over heating... because it gets very hot after about 45 min

still try using some store bought CDs to see if the unit does the same thing. like i said, it could be the laser, it may be misaligned.
my cdjs get warm, so does my mixer, it's the way things are, they are made for it. it says in the user manual what the operating temperature is, the same one that i posted. but if it's getting really hot then there is a problem.
i "blew up" a mixer before (smelled like burning. yummm), so i understand the concern completely... The first sign was it was getting very warm to hot but i didn't know any better. it could be the plug you're using or something. if the heat is the problem that is.
to make yourself feel better though, find an authorized repair shop to get it checked out.
