Four-star general sacked
Investigated for alleged sexual misconduct
Wednesday, August 10, 2005; Posted: 1:41 p.m. EDT (17:41 GMT)
Gen. Kevin P. Byrnes had led the Army Training and Doctrine Command since November 2002.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- In an extraordinary move, the Army sacked a four-star general who was the subject of a Defense Department investigation into alleged sexual misconduct, an official said Tuesday.
Gen. Kevin P. Byrnes, commander of Army Training and Doctrine Command, was approaching retirement when the decision to relieve him of duty was made by the Army chief of staff, Gen. Peter Schoomaker.
The Army announced no specific allegation against Byrnes, but a senior official said it involved unspecified sexual misconduct. The official spoke only on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the allegation.
Well, well. What do we have here? Sexual misconduct against another high ranking official? This is odd since the Army hasn't relieved anyone of this rank since MacArthur, so evidence against him must've been pure black and white and with a video to boot... We repose special trust and confidence in the patriotism, fidelity, and honor of these officers, and this one definitely let us down for cheap sex. Sounds like a Clinton...
F*ck him. He deserves the eternal blemish on his 35 year old career.

^^ um yeah. no exact details and youre already happy to crucify him
it might be nothing more than fraternisation or male on male action. i hardly see either of those as firing offences.

i applaud your candor and tact in discussing this, but its better to post a link to the article you are quoting

i hardly think that he "crucified" him; he only mentioned what should be the appropriate punishment. maybe a star

it's not fraternization. you may be on to something with homo-ism though. if either of those were the case, then yes, it would be grounds for discharge. we call it the UCMJ.

yeah, no kidding.
what im saying is that fraternisation or homo tendencies do not equate with "F*ck him. He deserves the eternal blemish on his 35 year old career." especially since there arent any details as yet to justify that kind of attitude. now, were he touching little kiddies, that would be fair enough.
im hoping ill live long enough for you americans to get over your rabid obsession with the private sexual lives of your populace.

again, no kidding. but thats where the problem and plenty of your antiquated attitudes and laws stem from. more interested in who's been sucking bill's dick than where he's firing his real weapons etc

Smoke don't condone no bullshit from higher ups, including Clinton. I call 'em like I see 'em.
At least I'm glad I moved the thread to this forum where folks understand the magnitude of relieving a four star. Can't remember when that's been done since MacArthur in the Korean war for entirely different reasons, so this may be a first.
BTW, I don't need to show any links, fool. This is common friggin' knowledge by now and needs no source. He wasn't at the Fort Benning change of command today either. Waiting for the Army Times inside poop coming up this weekend.
