This is of caused by the size of the speaker of course, small speaker , no accurate bass on the really low end.
But YAMAHA is real honest with their specs. Because some of the cheaper companies tend to give the 20-20khz Freq.Response , because that is what the speaker has to process, but it doesn't always come out correctly.
This is where they seperate the good speakers from the bad. |
Thanks for the response mate. What about the Alesis M1-MK2

Do you know anything about these? I hear they are quite popular but not overly accurate.

I have a pair of Alesis M1 MK2s. They've got slightly enhanced highs and upper bass, but nothing as bummy or hissy like HiFi speakers. They sound much better and cause less fatigue than any Yamaha's I've seen, and they're very tight and precise on lower volumes. They do have one thing in common with yamaha's, if you can make something sound inteligible and balanced on them at larger volume, it will sound crisp and clean on most hifi or club systems. I was confident back then as I am now that they are the best budget monitors on the market-
