I hope laws like this become standard practice in most countries.
EDIT:
Before someone starts flaming let me set you an example. A year ago at the age of 20 years a daughter of our family friends had died. When she was bornež, she was diagnosed with a disease (dont know which) which basicly left her an empthy shell of a human. She looked like a 4 year old and wasnt aware of her self at all, actualy it was more like her brain died the second she was born, but the body forgot to die with it. For 20 years her parent loved her and cared for her and were werry saddened when she died, but at that funeral for the first time ever that i have seen them, they didnt look like they had the weight of the world on their shoulders.
In cases like this wouldnt it be better to end it early. The parents are spared many burdens, and the child...well since she wasnt avare that those 20 years ever happened she woudnt miss out on anything would she?
