It's holy Mackinaw
Mackinaw is the Ojibwa Indian word for bear droppings. When tacking bears in the winter time the Ojibwas counted on locating bear droppings in the forest when the tracks got covered with snow. Jim Bowen is 25% Objibwa and he probably took the term from his native side because he can't say holy shit on television

There are very very few Ojibwa words you will find anywhere....especially in the dictionary....very few Ojibwa even speak the language now a days. My cottage is on an Ojibwa Reserve and I have spent many many years with the Ojibwa people and even dated an Ojibwa woman. This is true......I was watching a leaf game with Chief John Redbautum and when Joe said that he laughed and I asked him why and he told me. I confirmed this with my girlfriend at the time and her mother.

Its also the river that seperates Lake Huron and Lake Michigan. Also an island in Lake Huron and a famous bridge that connects Michigan's mainland with the upper peninsula.
